Blockowski™
iOS 18.0+ (iPhone)
Stack 'em, clear 'em, party on. Totally offline.
A radically retro falling-block puzzle for your iPhone. Spin the pieces, slot them in, clear the rows and keep the stack out of the stratosphere, all dressed up like a plastic 1980s pocket arcade. Gnarly, huh? There are two other looks too, if you're feeling bodacious.

What's inside
-
Three looks, all totally rad
Console, Handheld (gray, black and white, or green) and Modern. Hit STYLE and the screen, the controls and the whole plastic body change colors like it's a Saturday morning.
-
Old-school rules
Console-era gravity and speed-ups, classic line scoring, no wall kicks. It plays the way you remember, dude, not like some newfangled remix.
-
Five ways to play
Endless, Sprint, Ultra, Survival and Cleanup, each with its own high-score table and a start level from 0 to 19.
-
Versus the computer
Take on a bot on easy, medium or hard. Clear rows to dump garbage on its side. Don't have a cow when it does it back.
-
Play a friend, nearby
Two phones, side by side, no internet and no account. Clear rows to send garbage over, and the first stack to hit the ceiling loses. Eat my shorts!
-
A soundtrack made from scratch
Seven chiptune tracks synthesized right on your phone, no recordings. The music speeds up when your stack gets gnarly. Pick a track, turn it off, or let your own music keep playing.
-
Controls your way
An on-screen pad where every button buzzes differently, so you can find it by feel. Or swipe gestures, or a game controller. Left-handed layout, portrait or landscape.
-
Pick up where you left off
Pause, leave, or take a call and Continue puts you right back in the game. Your high scores stay on your phone. Read my lips: nothing leaves.
Pick your poison
Five ways to play
Hit START on the title screen, then use Left and Right to pick a mode. Every one keeps its own high scores, so there's always a new personal best to chase. Righteous.
-
Endless
Mondo marathon
Play until the stack reaches the ceiling. Start on any level from 0 to 19 if you want to skip the warm-up.
-
Sprint
40 lines, fast
Clear 40 lines as quickly as you can. Your best time is the only thing that counts. Where's the beef?
-
Ultra
Two minutes
Rack up the biggest score you can before the clock runs out. No time for a chill pill.
-
Survival
Garbage keeps rising
Rows of junk push up from below at a steady pace while you try to keep clearing. Stay frosty.
-
Cleanup
25 lines
Start on a messy board with as much garbage as you dare, then clear 25 lines. Gag me with a spoon.
Cowabunga! Every mode keeps its own score table, on your phone only.
A closer look
Paid apps, just like the old days
Blockowski costs a nominal price on the App Store, and that's the whole deal. Back in the 80s you saved up for the cartridge or fed quarters to the machine, and nobody was selling your habits to a stranger in a skinny tie. A “free” puzzle game gets paid for with ads, trackers and a nagging pop-up; this one is paid for by you, so there's nothing to sell: no ads, no coins, no energy bar to wait out, no premium tier. It runs entirely on your phone with no account and no internet connection. The only time it talks to anything is when you choose to play a friend, and then it talks straight to their phone, not to a server. The music is homemade, every button buzzes differently so you can find it by feel, and your scores stay in your pocket. Bogus things stay out. Totally tubular, and totally yours.
